Peter King's Hearings On Radical Islam In US

Since the fall of communism in Europe, political Islam (think Iran, Saudi Arabia, the Taliban, Al Qaeda) has emerged as the biggest threat to human rights around the world.

On his radio show Wednesday, Dennis Prager said: “Those who want an Islamic government… We have the moral duty to judge an Islamic government the way we’d change a democratic government or a communist government or a fascist government. Then it is not just in the realm of religious faith. Once you want to establish a state, a government with many laws, then I have to judge you.”

In which countries — Dennis Prager asks — has Islam increased in political power in the modern age and personal liberty grown with it? I can not think of one example.

When countries are governed by Sharia (such as Afghanistan under the Taliban), they become evil.

When countries are governed by religious law, they become evil.

I think that if Israel became governed by Torah it too would be evil.

Ivanka Trump Converts To Orthodox Judaism

I remember hearing Rabbi Steven Weil of Beth Jacob lambasting the Los Angeles Times as a "filthy rag" in 2001. That’s ludicrous. Like the Jewish Journal of Los Angeles, it’s a gentle newspaper with a generally high ethical standard.

I’ve been examining dozens of photos of Ivanka to try to tease out her religious beliefs. It seems that tzniut is not among said beliefs. But perhaps I need to see more to make a definite psak.

Has Ivanka had plastic surgery or is she just naturally gorgeous?

Ivanka has been put through the gossip grinder today. I want us to remember Ivanka in happier times.

 

Let's Just Be Friends! No Sex, No Love, No Relationship

When you meet a woman and you have a nice chat or two, before you know it, she’s likely to give you this, “I just want to be friends” talk.

And if you put up with it, that’s all you’ll ever be!

The “Let’s just be friends” announcement is a putdown. She’s saying she has no romantic or sexual interest in you. That’s fine if she has no such interest, but why do I have to listen to her announce it to me like Martin Luther nailing his 99 theses to the wall?

I’ve never told a girl early on, “I just want to be clear, I’m never going to lend you money or give you a ride to the hospital or be there for you just before you menstruate and your other friends are sick of your whining.”

I’d never dream of making such an announcement because I am an old-fashioned Victorian gentleman. I believe too deeply in preserving people’s dignity.
